Red & White

It was not my intention to share an item from my shop today; was planning to make a treasury and post it here to share beautiful items of fellow shop owners, but I spent nearly all day on the shawl so I felt tired in the evening so could hardly complete working on checking the faves my items got on Etsy till it was time for dinner. Seems like I'll have to make the list tomorrow and will be really to share it here with you as I'll promote it on teams back on Etsy. The first treasury I've posted here had good enough feedback, but I forgot to send messages to people included that I've also promoted it on my blog so the second was a bigger success on building new friendships and I hope the ones I'll make in the future will be better for all of us. I've got so many messages from friends that were really warm and all drew big smiles on my face. Even I've did by sending replies to all the messages; I also want to thank them all again here for having such beautiful items to inspire me for treasuries. Today I want to share a sleeveless dress that I've knitted of soft yarn in red and white - salt and pepper - color. In front of the dress I've used a wide, vertical, white stripe with cableknit which gives the dress a stylish look. I hope you all will like it...

Different gift idea...

After a night that was busy with reading the replies to my thank you message for being a part of my latest treasury, I went to bed with a big smile on my face and woke up the same way. The weather is really unstable for the last few days; it even changes through the day; you get ready for a warm walk under the Sun and you see you will get soaked if you don't get an umbrella while you open the door to leave :) On such days I can hardly decide what to do, because all my schedule changes according to the weather. So instead of going out for a walk after breakfast; I sat on my couch and continued to gather the crochet flowers for my favorite shawl and listened to 'sugar' chit chat away beside the window watching the rain fall. When I realized that the rain has stopped; I went for a walk and checked a few stores for a gift I want to buy for a cousin. Doing this and that it was time to write for my blog and here I am. Today I want to share a round table cloth I've crocheted of fine thread in ecru color which I think gives your work a chic look. I hope you all will like it...

Red Gifts...

As I've promised myself, I want to share as much items from friends' shops here on my blog and I couldn't find a better way yet to do this than making a treasury first, take it's photo on the screen, edit it by paint and then post it here :) Sure this isn't fair for my friends on google so I'll try to find a way to do such a photo collage from the posts on communities here. Last night after writing my blog; I could only find time to make tresury on Etsy, but couldn't promote it as much as I wanted to (anyone who does this will understand what I mean; the secret groups that keep promoting eachothers' treasuries so you can see ones that have favorites you can only get for ten treasuries in total :)). I sure would love my treasuries to be more relevant, but have to admit they still have enough visits even they are just promoted from a single source :) It's good to know what you are going to share on your blog even when you wake up, because this gives you enough time to work on your projects and it was just great to spare more time that I could on last few days on my colorful shawl so I can complete it on this weekend and share it here before I change the list in my shop. Not a surprise for sure that I'll share my latest treasury here today. I hope you all will like it and the items from fellow Etsians.

Like orange ???

The weather gets better and better everyday and here at this end of the world; well at least in our home, this means 'the balcony season' has started :) We opened the cupboards and took the cushions and covers of the sofas we use in the balcony. Carried all the flower pots from the back balcony of the house to the front one and it was completed when the table is placed. Then it was time for me to continue my knit and crochet work. First I've completed another row of flowers for my shawl so I could skip to the new baby coat I've started to knit lately. After all the daily chores one net were completed, I've visited my blog to check which of my items haven't been shared. I saw that in the earlier days of this blogging thingy I've shared a few items together to make the page more attractive and then when there were not much left; I've started to share them one in a single post which I guess is the right thing to do so a reader can see the details of the item. Today I want to share a sleeveless dress for little girls that I've knitted of orange yarn for Spring. It's pattern has small gaps that form a shape like diamonds which also help the dress to be let more air in. The crocheted belt in three different colors gives the dress a chic and swet look. I hope you all will like it...

U've got a message :)

It was the day for another family party so I went to a cousin's house and had good time with relatives as we munched on the delicious cookies and pastry. It was about 6 o'clock when we came home and the lil mischievous bird greeted us with cheerful yells just as he heard the key turning in the lock; actually he feels when the elevator stops at our floor of the apartment. Just played some with him and sat to turn the laptop on, had to clear the inboxes on my mails and sure so many other things to do. I wonder if my brother didn't arrange all the harder work on net, what could I do :) I realized that whatever I write on this blog doesn't have much effect, but photos do all the job :) Sure this excludes the sentences on politics (just a hint... if you want your blog be clicked millions in a few weeks... write on politics or celebrities :)), but for that I plan to have another one and before that I really want to have enough time to tend on this one and turn it into a real crafters blog. I hoped to make a treasury and post it here tonight, but couldn't spare any time for Etsy yet so I have to share another from my shop which is a messenger bag that I've knitted of grey yarn and embellished it with a few wooden beads that I've applied on the same colored flowers as the bag itself. I hope you all will like it...

Handknit Spring Dress...

T.G.I.F. I'm sure on every Friday most of us say this like it has difference from any other days. Sure just because we add various meanings to everything in our lives; Monday becomes a monster and Friday happens to be angel that touches our live in such a magical way. It's like a trainer that prepares us for the weekend we'll enjoy with our loved ones. Today my mom had a doctor appointment, actaully a yearly check up and Thank God all is fine with her health. Her doctor just gave a few extra medicine for a few issues she'd mentioned and said the apnea after walking will end if she uses them for two months. On our way back home we dropped by the markets, bought a few ball of wool of different color. In the afternoon I've continued to crochet the flowers for the shawl I've told you I've been trying to complete for my shop. As Sun started to set I've changed the work to the new colorful baby coat, because in dim light it's hard to work with black wool. Worked some on my mails and communities on google it was time to think on what to share here on my blog today. Just checked my items one by one and decided to share a handknit dress for women. It's in pink and lilac and I think if a mom of a lil girl buys it; it will be a great combo with the baby vest I've exposed on a post a few days ago ( https://www.etsy.com/listing/157329306/baby-cardigan-sweater-vest-blouse-with?ref=shop_home_active_4). Hand knitted in Purple...

It was a day that started with rain even the Sun have shone so bright. Such days are the ones one can have the chance to watch the rainbow. Rainbow always come with cheer, laughter and joy telling that the rain is about to end and the soil will get more alive than it has ever been with the moist trying to reach the sky to form the clouds again for the second part of this game of wonder of mother nature. Seems like we name everything that support, nurse and nurture us as 'mother' and that's why when we hear that word; we feel like we get the awesome smell coming from the kitchen. Just a second is enough to bring up the memories of our mom that are mostly related to her magic in her kitchen. While Mother's Day is just at the corner and after writing on moms making wonders in kitchen, I guess it's a good idea to share an apron here. This is a one that I've knitted as a custom order in purple according to the pattern of the orange one in my shop. I hope it will recollect your memories with the most precious ones in your entire life and hope you all will like it...

Happy April 23rd.

I'm sure most of you wonder whom this elegent, handsome and intellectual man above is... This is the second day I'll write about the main topic of this blog, but as I said earlier I want this to be a living blog so everything that plays a major role in our lives should have their private place in my posts. Today I want to write a few sentences on April 23rd.'s importance for my country. It's the day our parliament was established and held its first meeting. It was while Turkish War of Independence was still going on after the last part of the Ottoman Empire; Anatolia and its capital İstanbul being occupied after the World War I after the state being pulled in war beside Germany with the tricks of other countries while the corrupted leaders ruled the country. They became allies of enemies while citizens was starving. In those times when hopes were lost one by one God gifted this nation with the handsome man on those photos. Will not write longer about the founder of the Republic of Turkey, becasue ever since he was seen on the stage of history, millions do this and none could achive to this completely and I'm sure this genious will inspire billions even thousands and thousands of years later. The reason I've mentioned him here today is that he's the one and only statesman that has ever given such an important day to the children of the world as a gift. Ever since the day is celebrated as International Children's festival even some idiots try to make people forget him lately. Sure this is useless, because he will live FOREVER in our hearts.

Earth Day...

Here we are on another Earth Day. I guess we all should think on this again and again, because as far as I see; our direction isn't the right one. We seem to have millions of things we have in our lives that we produce by damaging the world we live in. This may not be that important if we had another planet we can live, but we all know such one will not be reached even if it's discovered in the near future. So we need to be so careful while we consume the natural sources. This day was first celebrated in 1970 and till then on every 22th. of April events are held worldwide to direct our attention on environmental protection. Sure we may think is a single citizen can cause any change while all the giant companies seem to disregard the problem. Actually they've also realized they were doing wrong and try to change their production process and be respectful against nature, but things has to be done should be done immidiately. I guess any of us should make a change in our lives and start to use natural products in our lives instead of synthetic ones. This is not only a choice we have to make, but a responsibility for next generations. I'm sure if wisdom wins the battle we will have a better world to live in. Please just think and take action as soon as possible. Today I want to share just one photo which is our home. I'm sure you all love it...

New excitement...

Last night I just could find time to check my shop after writing my blog and there was message from a very kind and sweet mother that was looking for a knit coat asking a few questions about one of two coats on my shop. She said she just wanted to learn if I think the item will fit her daughter. After a few messages regarding the measurements I need we dealt on me knitting one a few centimetres wider than the current one (you can see it here also on the post on 23th. February). So first thing I did in the morning after having my breakfast was to check if I had enough yarn for it and luckily I had. I always start with excitement on such custom orders, because such handmade items are not only clothes, but ones that carry feeling from one end to the other. I always try to picture the sweetie in the item I knit with a big smile one her lovely face and when I get a photo from my customer it makes me really happy knowing that I have one more satisfied friend on some part of the globe far from where I live . As I've said on my previous posts; running an online shop is not just business for me, but also making friends all around the world. This is why I sell items that I produce with my own hands and try to add a little gift to every pack I send. Today I want to share a few booties that I've knitted as gifts for baby cardigans. I hope you all will like them...

Chillin' on Sunday...

It was around 9 o'clock that I woke up to the usual chit chat of sugar; I guess you remember our mischievous lovebird :) he tries to bring everyone in the house to his throne for showing him the morning respect :) Actually he wants extra food than his normal seeds from anyone who comes to visit him. He's really weird in his eating habits; he even drinks soup; I guess this will tell you enough about him. After visiting the King of the house; I had my breakfast and continued to crochet the flowers for the colorful shawl I've mentioned here a few days ago that I'll replace with the one in my shop that I want to keep for myself. Then as usual I've worked on promoting my items here and there, cleard my inbox and it was time to write my blog. Sure I know on sundays none of us spend as much time as we do on week days so will not write more. Maybe because it's raining heavy outside, I feel like sharing a warmer item from my shop which gives me cheer everytime I see. It's a neckwarmer and hat set for kids in yellow and has brown bows on it. It may not be the first thing on our minds on Northern Hemisphere, but will be a suitable post for the Southern :) I hope you all will like it.

How it starts and ends...

Today was a really busy one. In the morning I've realized that the dimensions on my lists of cardigans didn't comply with the chart I've added lately so I've took the big box I keep my items out and measured all one by one. Changed the lists in about an hour so I could proceed to taking photos for some of them that I've decided to change and for the new scarf I've just finished the crochet and spangle embellishments. It's quite a work actually and I sometimes wonder if I should work on every scarf this much (I know the crochet, beading and spangles are what makes difference of my items with all the army of scarf sellers :)). I've edited the photos and uploaded them to my shop before I signed in google to check my mails and share a few items on communites which means it's time to write my blog next and here I am to share the process of a scarf being listed in my shop. I hope you all will like it...

1st. blog treasury

It's been quite awhile since I've promised to share items from the shops of friends on Etsy and I've voiced this out a few weeks ago and gave a deadline that I guess was around this weekend. I've been searching for the items to share here for some time and as you can imagine there are thousands of awesome products there on net so I had to decide where to start. I know it's subjective to start from my fellow Etsians, but that's where I try to sell and know how hard they all are working. I've been talking on 'tresuries' that people create (the ones that has an account definitely know, but for the ones that sell on ebay, amazon, zibbet and etc. would not be aware of them) so I took the photo of the zoomed screen after making one there and will post it here also. I think this a good way to share others' items, because it enables me to share sixteen different products from various shops. I hope you all will like this first try. Have an excellent weekend...

Spring suggestion...

I've been busy all day weith this and that. Just after breakfast I went out for shopping, bought the lambswool I've been suspending that I need to complete the favorite shawl I've listed in my shop. I'll start to gather the flowers tomorrow and hopefully complete it by weekend so I can keep the current one for myself (https://www.etsy.com/listing/129342972/shawl-crochet-shawl-wrap-for-women?ref=shop_home_active_17) :) Actually this was on my mind for so long, but I had to start the shop with enough items so listed it also and just after a year, I could spare some time for the second one even the flowers were ready. This one will be formed of more vivid and lively crocheted flowers and will look as chic as the one in my shop with black wool I'll crochet them together. After deciding which flower to place where in the shawl; if you consider that there's more than 70 flowers, you will understand how much time it takes :)I worked on the 'teams' on Etsy, knitted some items as gifts for the items I sell and realized it was time for dinner. Then it was time for 'communities' on google+ before I could pass on my blog. As usual I'll expose an item from my shop and today it's a pink shiffon scarf I recommend for Spring with unique handmade crochet around. I hope you all will like it...

Warm, soft and comfy...

I've been thinking on what kind of changes I can do on my online shop lately so I can proceed on other websites to promote it. I've decided to start with the list. Every list has 4 months on Etsy before they expire and usually I renew all when that period ends, but I guess I was doing wrong, because this way I unable myself to have a shop with 'the perfect list' of items. Sure this definition is something I've just made up, but I think it represents what I mean so well. From now on I'll not keep the items on my list that don't have enough views and favorites so in a year or so I'll have the list that will bring the killer sales :) I'll start this today, because I saw many items to be renewed there. Instead of having the variations of my items in a single list, I'll expose them in different lists which will give the shop a rich look :) I hope this to work and will share the result with you here so you can also try and hopefully increase your traffic. Before I signin there and start the hard work, I sure want to share an item with you which I've knitted for comfort. It's a cushion cover which I've embellished with cable knit and wooden buttons that give it a chic look. I hope you all will like it...

Lavender & Pink

After celebrating my first year in online trading world, I started to think on how I can make my shop flourish. At the beginning I've made a thorough search on net; have to admit it was my brother who did all since I was so inexperienced then, read many articles how an online shop can be promoted and started to do everything I read one by one. First it was the teams on Etsy, then having a facebook page, creating boards on Pinterest, having separate accounts on twitter for every page I have and sure to start a blog. Day by day all get in their track and I guess if I start to pay for advertising through a shopping season; I'll have enough sales that will satisfy me as a shop owner. Sure first I'll try my best to connect all acoounts and make them run properly so they can bring enough traffic to my shop before paying for promotions. These are just sentences of a newbie trying to share her experiences with friends who has just started and don't know what to do next :) I'd be really happy if these simple advices I give helps to any of you and will keep sharing everything I learn on this long path and having company is something I really would appreciate :) Today I want to share a baby vest that I've knitted of soft baby wool in purple and pink color. Happy B-day WOOLOPIA...

Today my shop's 1st. b-day and I just want to celebrate this with all my online friends. Earlier on I've posted thank you notes to all the groups that I'm a member on facebook and got awesome messages from friends that made my day. I also have a facebook page as I'm sure most of you have (anyone who is interested please check; https://www.facebook.com/pages/Woolopia/134055843464961) to support your online business. Even I couldn't do much there lately; since it's the first day of my second year, it's the next step I plan to take and make that page running. So it's been a year since I've opened my shop on Etsy, I guess I've made my first sale 9-10 months ago and I remember the first few days how excited I was with every new follower or admirer there. Today it's like those days are ages away and the statistics show that I've done a good job without any advertising there. Millions of thanks to all my 1710 admirers and 2388 followers taht I feel beside me today. The sales... :) I hope them to follow one after the other with all my pages including my blog getting in their tracks soon. I know this has been like the speeches of actors winning the award in Oscars, but I need to thank one of my relatives Senem for her encouragement on opening the shop and to my brother Tolga for his support on every step in my online adventure. It's a very young :) blog I know and not enough readers yet, but sure I thank every single of you with all my heart...

Lil dress for sweetie...

ıt's been a quiet Sunday. I needed to take the photos of the new baby dress I've sewn lately and because I want them to be under normal daylight; I had to wait for the Sun to show its face between the clouds after a few rainy days. In the afternoon I had the chance to take a few photos. I've edited them with 'paint' to get a better background which all the articles I've read say that is useful for an online shop. Sure as usual I'll post it to my blog before I list on my shop. I know on Sundays the traffic for blogs (if they aren't on politics or celebs :)) are less than usual so I'll keep it short and start uploading the photos. I hope you all will like it...
