Love the colors...

Day by day I get used to writing a blog and once one gets used to write daily, it also gets easier to run a blog besides and online shop. Anyone who has such a thought to do this be brave and take your first step; if I can do it, you also can :) Sure I need to learn how to get more views on both and take the visitors from here to there and vice versa :) I remember how excited I was to see the first click to my first post and on the first few days of my second month I get more g+1, tweets, pins and shares on facebook. I hope to get more and more of all for every post every day :) As I repeat constantly on my posts, my first year is still not finished as an online shop owner and I still knit new items to have my 100th. listing there so I can spare less time than I should for my blog and promoting my shop. I'm so close to complete 100 soon and this means I'll be able to work here more as well as on my English studies which will give me the chance to express my thoughts better. Until then I'll not change my routine here; will write some and share an item from my shop. Today I'll share an infinity scarf that I've knitted with self pattern mohair that ended with an awesome color combination. I hope you all will like it... https://www.etsy.com/listing/179755167/infinity-scarf-cowl-neckwarmer-in-multi?ref=shop_home_active_8

Even the skies cry...

If you are reading or watching the news about Turkey lately, I'm sure you are aware of all the nonsense that our politicians do lately that end with innocent children die in streets in the protests. I guess the rain for days were the teardrops from heavens for our loss. I hope all these to end soon, not only in my country, but also everywhere in our world. I guess peace, tolerance and understanding is what we need to solve all our problems. I've mentioned the word 'understanding' deliberately, because not only bad things happen in this country which is actually the melting pot of different cultures and ideas for thousands of years in the history. I beleive if we just listen eachother carefully and talk without trying to insult the other we always will come to a conclusion. This is what has happened to me lately. If you have read previous posts, I guess you can remember me knitting a baby bodysuit as a custom order (https://www.etsy.com/listing/181125694/handknit-bodysuit-in-turquoise-100?ref=shop_home_active_9). My customer has chosen the color turquoise so I've searched the net for the color palettes of the biggest wool manufacturers of my country. After we agreed on the color by messages, I went to a dealer of the firm; Kartopu (one of the biggest yarn factories of Turkey) and asked for the 100 % merino wool of the color and they said they didn't know that the factory produced that color. I came back home, turned the lap top on and ordered the amount I need online direct from the factory. It was so prompt delivery that I got my wool and started to knit the bodysuit. There were thorns in the flocks that I saw as I knitted the bodysuit and decided to contact the firm for this issue after completing the order and dispatch it. I've contacted them by mail and just the next day they've contacted me by phone; told me they were really sorry, explained why such an issue occured and asked me how they can compensate this. I said it wasn't my reason to contact, but just to let them know so we ended our conversation. The day after the doorbell rang, I opened the door and there was a pack delivered from the firm with new flocks of wool I've purchased and a shawl as a gift. I've thanked them with another mail and thought I should write here also. You will see the photo of all below. Today I'll also share a jersey; jumper for women with unique collar and handknitted belt that I've knitted in black and used another type of silvery black yarn to for sparkly stripes. I hope you all will like it...

Purple is always great...

It's still raining without a second's interval here. The rain has its own charm if you don't have to go out :) It's great just to look out of the window watching the rain drops fall. Sure if you have the chance to sit on your couch in the warmth of your living room. I hope every single person on the world to have the chance to get everything they want in their life. I guess through our lives, in our daily struggles, doing our daily chores, we don't realize how lucky we are being healthy, being able to provide our needs. What I'm sure is... a day will come that human beings will stop nonsense battles and wars for self interest and remember the days (sure there were just a few :)) they used to share all. It seems that's a bit far from the days we live, but don't let the hope in you fade. This blog started as a crafts blog, but I think sharing thoughts, feelings and opinions are much more important than sharing items here so I'll do this time to time. Today I want to share an infinity scarf and hat set here that I think is in a wonderful color for rainy days; purple. I've knitted the scarf ribbed of soft yarn, but haven't sewn two edges together. Instead I've added some loops of white yarn to one end and placed white buttons on the other so there will be no buttonholes that will get loose after being used. Embellished the scarf with white yarn in diagonal on the sides. Tha hat is also ribbed and has the diagonal white embellishments. I beleive it has been beautiful and attaching the photos below with the hope that you all will like it... https://www.etsy.com/listing/175506386/infinity-scarf-cowl-neckwarmer-and-hat?ref=shop_home_active_10

Screen shot that made my day!!!

This is an exception that I'm posting twice a day, but wanted to share this with you as somebody so new to this online business. Just saw a few minutes ago, captured the screen and sharing it with you... https://www.etsy.com/shop/woolopia

Good old days...

I don't know why, but I feel lazy today. Maybe because the weather was so gloomy all day it kept raining without giving a break. I thought how we changed the climate... Shhhhhhhhhh... Don't tell this to big bosses,; they hate everyone saying this. They found some scientists that voice out their thoughts and opinions; human had no effect on the climate change. I'm sure there will be billions they will effect with these comments and reports, but I still remember how the seasons once were. When winter came it came with snow that cover the streets where we all go out and enjoy playing snowballs or making a snowman. Maybe just after we changed our behaviour; spending our days looking at a screen and living a virtual life instead of having an actual one outside, God decided to change the seasons :) Reason may be this or that, but the fact is neither weather nor our lives are like they used to be a few decades ago. With the memories of those good old days, I want to share a baby cardigan that has a unique pattern of my mother. I guess the baby she first knitted this cardigan to has graduated college years ago :) I like the pattern and the cohesion of colors used for it. As usual I hope you all will like it...

Beads and spangles...

The rain still continues so does the knitting :) Actually I could just start to knit, because I had some scarves to work on, did some beading for three and completed the custom order. So it was busy day with beads and spangles. Just as I've completed the scarves and packing the one that I'll dispatch tomorrow, I sat and knitted some; continued to the colorful baby jumper with a flower on the chest and I guess I'll finish it in a few days. It was gloomy all day so I couldn't take the photos of the new items that I want to list to my shop. I need to do this on the first sunny day, because I think natural light is better for photos and it helps while editing them with 'picasa' or 'paint'; gives them a warmer look. Sure if I get more experienced on running an online shop, I may think to take the photos with extra light in studio conditions. Until then I need to wait clear days to take the photos of my items :) Today I'll share another 'yemeni' that I've adorned with some beads and spangles trying not to ruin their ethnic and authentic character. I hope you all will like it...

Happy March 8th. to all...

I woke up to a rainy day. After a winter without enough snow, weather seems to compensate the lack with heavy rain on the first days of Spring. It is the Women's Day; I sure will not argue on this '1' single day spared for women, but I share the feelings of those workers who had gifted us with the day even they had to pay this with their blood and lives time to time on the their long battle. Last night around 1 am my time I had a custom order which was a scarf I've embellished with beads and spangles, but my customer was asking if I could find one in turquoise. When you don't dye and paint the cotton fabric yourself (I try to do this when I work with pure silk, but for just one cotton scarf this is too big a work :)) it's hard to find the exact color and pattern you want. Today I was lucky and found a great 'yemeni' and started to do the beading so I can dispatch it on Monday. If I haven't shared a scarf here yesterday, it would be nice to share the photos of the one that's sold, but that can wait for a few days until the news one are ready :) Today I'll share a baby jumper; sweater that I so enjoy to knit. I hope you all will like this cheerful sweater.
