2 in 1 set...

As the heat of Summer surrounds us, I'm sure all the knitters started to work on their items for coler times of the year. After all the search on web, all the visits to yarn stores and all the times spent thinking; I guess I have a few things on my mind. I've started some, ordered yarn for some and thinking on the variants of them and will buy the yarn needed when I make up my mind. the new collection will look great when I list them all in my shop and I hope to seize the holiday season sales this year :) When you try to run a shop on knit and crochet items; you see that it's an endless field and variety of the possibe items one can knit or crochet leaves you in awe. I've come to a conclusion some months ago and made a decision not to add more crochet; needle work items that take too much to complete. Even they end by being a masterpiece :) I guess if I can sell them, I'll list them as 'made to order' and use crochet in scarves as I normally do. I try to crochet all ends of the cotton, satin and shiffon scarves I list in my shop, because it makes the item more unique and personal. Knitting is where I'll play and diversify my goodies. I have hand knitted clothing for all ages, some cozies, aprons and accessories and there will be much more, because think what a shopper looks for. Buying for all the family and home from one single shop takes you a step forward if you're not a wholesaler :) Today I want to share some legwarmers. It was around the end of last winter that I've knitted these so I couldn't have much chance to promote them, but this year I'll knit ones in different colors, patterns and motifs. Just because there are too many people selling such accessories on Etsy; I've put them in my shop with and advantage of 2 pairs in 1 pair's price. I hope you all will like them...

Colorful cozies...

It doesn't matter how hot the Sun shines up in the sky when you're sick. Sure this summer flu makes you sweat more than the heat does and the ones got rid of it say it makes you shiver and hide under your blanket time to time. Thank God it doesn't make me shiver, but as every sickness it makes me meel weak. I've learned not to argue with flu, but fight it supported by my allies; meds and herbals :) so I've slept longer than usual today. The weather is better today after the heavy rain last night, but sure when the clouds open the sheltering curtain for a moment, that mischievous star scorches every nook and cranny its rays can reach :) So when the hot face of the Sun appeared, I've closed the awnings and the curtains and started to look at the world from another and smaller window; my computer screen :) There were three inboxes I had to clean up that I did two, shared some items on google + communities, replied to the comments and +1s and started to read articles on promoting a website and blog. There I found a detail I've read earlier, but didn't know what it was; to ping. I've learned that it's a system that works like an alarm wene your blog's updated by sending some sort of message; ping, to the search engines and alike. The experts say; using it in a medium amount brings more traffic to your page so I'll start to do it once in two days and if I'll see and difference will let you know. I've started the post by saying it doesn't matter how the weather is when you are sick and want to share things that are relevant to the introduction. They are some small size hot water cozies I've knitted of various colors of yarn to cheer up the patient. I hope you all will like them...

U warm my heart...

The days turned from hot to scorching and having the effects of this flu makes the time pass slower. I get meds and herbals so not fasting today and spent all day in bed; the only few steps I walked işs from my bedroom to the kitchen to get some drinks and snack or to the living room to watch some tv :) Sure I've used all the enrgy I've got to work on the teams on Etsy before I took a nap. I woke up, cleaned the inbox on google and made a new treasury so I can post to my blog to promote friends' items. I haven't saved it on Etsy yet, because I want followers of my blog to see it first. In this treasury I picked colors yellow to orange in different tones and adding a few golden items made the treasury a bit more glowing. It's Saturday and I know we all spend less time on reading and more time looking at the pictures while we are on web so I'll not write much today, but leave you with the tresaury I've named 'U warm my heart' and it's not only the items, but more than that your warm friendship. Winter will come...

It's Friday again which means we all will chill out some by just hearing the name of the weekend :) ın the beginning of the week my brother got summer flu and I guess even he got well; I've got effected. I have a sore throat, sweating and sneezing time to time and the heat makes it worse, but I try to rest through the day and give long breaks to knitting. I could hardly work on web, but in the evening I could clear my inbox on google and reply the comments and +1s :) It seems like even you do the chores, the work seems to multiplied and I guess I nedd to start reading the mails I've been saving on the folder I've named 'waiting', because every waiting has to end if you aren't waiting for Godot :) Actually I'm not much out of the track, moving according to the plan I've made at the start, but the pace is a bit slow I guess. thank God there are weekends on which I can complete the remaining work. Tomorrow will be a day I'll be busy with the charst and instructions of the items I'll share again with enough explanation. For the men's cardigan I'll share today, you'll not need much information, but the dimensions of the one you'll knit the item for. It's for XXL size, ribbed knit and on the chest, I've used thick and warm fabric. It's a great outfit for Fall and Winter days. I hope you all will like it...

Getting ready...

It's still really hot outside even it's around 8 pm. and the meteorologists say it will be hotter tomorrow. In the morning I had go out to pharmacy and supermarket to buy a few things and then I spent all day at home knitting. I've completed one of the cardigans I've been knitting for a few days and started another one for the new season. I've been checking the big firms that have strong brands and reading about how they get prepared for the season. Sure any of us watching tv would have a few ideas about how textile and apparel industry works and you can see the fashion weeks on news time to time in different cities of the world. First the designers decide on the colors they'll use that season so the factories start to weave the fabric a few months ago so they'll be ready for the upcoming season. Here in my city which is a big player in textile; one can see the careful, intense and hard work as the colors change on the weaving looms :) As I've repeated here a few times, I also try to do this and plan my work and after all the surfing on net I've made up my mind on the colors I'll use on my different shop sections for Fall and Winter and soon you'll see the newest samples of my winter collection. In brief one should start to promote winter items while people try to chill out on the seaside :) This is what I'll do today and share a jumper for women that I've knitted of white yarn which will be a great combo with anything casual. It's all ribbed and has a unique collar which has a stylish look. I hope you all will like it...

Woolopia on facebook...

I guess when you start to search the web to learn how to promote an online business; the first thing you'll see is thousands of articles saying to have a facebook page. Sure I can understand this, because today it seems like we; especially the new generation can't live; even breathe without social media. I'm sure any of you had an experience of somebody looking at the screen of the mobile in their hand bumping to you, this has been a routine in our streets these days so we have to disregard the power of facebook, twitter, flickr, etc. In the beginning, while I was trying to create an account in every media source I've seen; I've also formed a page there. Sure starting a page doesn't mean it will flourish by itself without you taking care of the page, dealing with it. I was like a horse in a race; trying to signin to this website and that, trying to promote my items in all, but then I've realized dividing my time into ten or more were making it worse, because it was like a clerk trying to ten customers at the same time. After I saw this was useless, I've made a plan and according to it my priority was my blog and then my facebook page so I've suspended to present it until today, because from now on I can start to share new posts there. I doubt I can do that daily right away, but in a month's time I'll be able to do this and I guess a few early visitors and followers will not be bad :) I'd love you to visit my page on facebook; WOOLOPIA. Better this way

As days goes by, weather gets hotter, but I guess there are many surprises hidden just like the rain and wind came on the most unexpected moment on last few weeks. The only thing is, I can't spend much time outside and just go out if necessary. Staying home has its own benefits for sure; I can spend more time on my knitting so I can complete all the cardigans for my renewed listings. Besides this I can spend more time on web so I can get new knit and crochet ideas for the upcoming seasons. I'd love to spend more time on Etsy, but the layout trials of the admin there kills me and time to time I even don't want to see the page. Still I try to do my best, because even I couldn't get the secret behind it, working on 'teams' there brings more views than any other source. For sure I'm still not an expert on promoting an online business, but what I know best is if you share love, it will come back to you multipled. To do this I try to share items from friends's shops as much as I can and 'etsy tresuries' are atill the best way before I start to gather photos from different shops to make a collage just like I've did for my own items. I've named my last treasury 'Better this way' on which I've used items in all tones of green. I hope you all will like it...
