Blue gifts from Woolopia...

It's been raining heavily for last few days and makes me feel like it will not stop soon. Such days are great opportunity for ones that knit and I hardly go out while it rains this much, but today I had to, because tomorrow mom will make a traditional dessert that's being made for thousands of years on this region in memory of prophet Nuh (Noah)'s Ark land after a long trip on water through flood. It's made of many different ingredients and one was missing so I had to go to bazaar and fetch them. I'll give the details with photos tomorrow, but today I'll share some blue items from my shop as usual with the hope you all will like it...

91st. anniversary...

Today is a very important day for my country; 91st. aniversary of our republic and it means much more while we have people that are enemies of republic, democracy and humanity on government. They try to pull this land of tolerance to the dark ages, but my people will understand how crucial to make our founder; MUSTAFA KEMAL ATATÜRK our guide once again. Especially women of this country that didn't have any rights before him. If we are equal citizens of this republic unlike other women of this region, if we can go out and walk freely in streets of our country while hundreds of millions are imprisoned like slaves of men among four walls in the name of religions and laws; we need to thank God for sending such a generous genious to us. I'm sure ones that had suffered of wars, terrorism, anarchy and occupation will understand this better than we do, but I guess we all have to think on our national heros that has turned us into individual citizens from being subjects of a sultan, king, dictator or whatever we call them. Today I want to share one photo with all my respect to the man that my nation owes too much and I'm sure this post will remind you yours. I'll end my sentences with his words; Peace at Home; Peace in the World...

Yellow gifts...

It's been a long day that started early, because there were millions of things to do :) Sure things on our minds awaiting to be done are usually suspended for a future time and this was what happened for me today. Thank God I could spare some time for knitting between guests and then mom and me visiting neighbors for some chat over our tea and coffee. Sure it's a relief when one has ready items to be listed and some others on their way so she can enjoy giving herself some free time :) In the evening; after working some online I've made a new photo collage to share on my blog with the hope you all will like it...

Red gift ideas...

I've been knitting faster since I decided to mind my own business and think on actual news less. This really helped me, because the world we live in is full of bad things hiding behind every corner and they pop up on your screen constantly. What I've seen is; even when I try so hard to make a little change; while majority of our community is unaware of what's going on around; it's impossible to make the change most of us yearn for. When one has so many things on her mind; it gets harder to focus on your work so I guess instead of trying to tell people what I think; it's better to achieve my goals and show them what can be done when one works honestly all through the way instead of following rotten politicians that try to use them for their own secret agenda. I'm sure there are millions feeling this way and want to take action so what I recommend is to take all the barriers on your way; succeed and be a role model for all the sleeping ones. Today I want to share some red items from my shop which I think will be beautiful gifts for the upcoming year. I hope you all will like them...

Sunday Treasury...

Early in the morning I've took the baby coat sold last night and made it ready to be dispatched tomorrow as first thing after breakfast when post office opens. After the pack was ready, just waiting for address to be written on its envelope, I've started a little search in boxes and cupboards where the yarn for baby coat I have to renew could be. I've found and started to knit the baby coat after the last few looms of my last infinity scarf that has to wait a few more days to be listed and displayed here on my blog for its combo to be completed :)  It was in the evening that I've cheked my gmail where there were more than six hundred mails and notifications of friends awaiting so I've replied all the +1s and comments one by one as I always do and reading such sweet words of friends made my day as they always do. Then I've signed in Etsy to make a treasury to promote items from different various shops of fellow Etsians here on my blog that I'll share here today that I know you all will love them and with the hope that you'll like the treasury also...

Serving cakes...

I've been sharing different items I've knitted, crocheted or sewn here on my blog and time to time I've shared cakes and cookies, but I've seen I haven't shared anything that we use when we serve them. It's weekend and as usual I'll write less as usual and let the photos talk on my behalf. Here are some samples that I've made to put on the cake dish to serve the cakes we bake for our guests in a chic way.  I've made them of tulle and embellished them with flowers I've made of ribbon. I hope you all will like them.

Beaded cushion covers...

It's been a quiet day with shopping on our daily walk and knitting after coming home; sure in between two guests that still come to extend condolences. I need to buy some new yarn soon, because I'm about the complete all the items I've been knitting lately. I wanted to add new sections to my shop actually, but seems like I'll not have enough time to do this before this holiday season so all I can do is to share a few samples here on my blog. Today I want to share some cushion covers I've sewn a few years ago and embellished them with beads so all the little dots on them is beaded there one by one with my own hands. I know it's not a good idea to put such an item that takes too much time to complete to one's shop, because it would be really hard to price it and renew when sold. I hope you all will like them...

Light green & red infinity scarf...

The weather gets colder slowly; Sun seems to be a bit further than it was a few months ago so I guess it's time to change your clothes and accessories in cupboards with ones for winter. Funny thing is; we need wool clothing in the winter so if you sell handmade you have to make them ready before winter comes, but it's hard to mingle with wool in hot Summer days :) If you wait for Fall to knit your items, then you definitely miss the season so anyone running an online shop has to get over this dilemma first :) I have to admit, all gets in their tracks slowly and you need to wait for your second year to see this change. I hope to see my shop flourish after this holiday season and see it running without much intervention. Today I want to share an infinity scarf I've knitted lately here. I've mixed light green and red yarn to make it thicker and suitable for coldest winter days. I hope you all will like it...

New, purple infinity scarf...

It's been a usual start to the new week. First of all I've started titying up the house and it took all my time till afternoon. After a little chillin' and a warm shower I've turned the lappy on and worked on the favorites on Etsy for an hour and more and then took my knitting bag out and continued to new infinity scarf I've started lately of light grey yarn I've bought on my last visit to the yarn store. Baby blanket was blinking at me from the corner for a few last touch to complete it so it can be listed to my shop for possible customers, but I was a bit tired and suspended this for tomorrow :) After dinner I've took colorful blanket to check how many parts I need for it to be completed and realized just a few to be crocheted so started working on them, but sure I had to give a break to write my blog and it's my latest infinity scarf of purple and light gray yarn that I want to share today. As usual; with the hope you all will like it...

New turquoise cowl...

At last I could complete knitting, taking and editing the photos and listing three new items to my shop that I've mentioned a few times here on my blog so this means three days' interval to color themed collages on my blog :) Weather couldn't decide if it was going to be rainy or sunny and such days are the worst ones to take photos of one's items, but I tried to do my best on this, because I've started to get bored struggling with incomplete items that was all around so it's a real relief to have at least some of them being ready and I hope to complete a few more soon. I'll start sharing them with the turquoise cowl that I've knitted of pure wool. I think the cable knit on it gives the cowl a chic look and the big buttons in light yellow and creme color add trendy spirit to the item. It will be a beautiful accessory for winter. I hope you all will like it...

Pink items from my shop...

It's one of those hectic days that you can never do things according to the plan you made before you started. Nothing is ready when you presumed them to be and all seems to be upside down. On such days that the order is once lost and doesn't seem to come back :) I try to do things that I normally do at the end so they will not be forgotten or skipped. I had many things to do in the markets, did them earlier so I could spend time for my online chores, but a visit to to a cousin's place occured and can't be suspended, because it's just me who had forgotten it was tonight so here I am; writing my blog post in the middle of the day which is about 5-6 hours earlier than usual. Just made a quick collage of some pink items listed in my shop and will share them with you, as usual with the hope that you all will like them...

Purple tones for Fall...

The weather gets chiller as leaves of calender fall one by one so I've changed the first page of my shop on Etsy as if it will make any change after the nonsense changes that turned everything upside down. Anyone trying to run a shop there will understand what I mean easily. Even working on teams can be a burden while admin trying to make changes on template and layout that unables your faves being seen and if you don't check them after every thread. I've been knitting new items as usual that will be ready soon, but this blogging thingy doesn't care if you have something ready to post or not so I've decided to make new collages of photos as suggestions for the upcoming seasons and thought it would be a good idea to expose them by color. Today it's purple and as usual with the hope you all will like them...

Purple infinity on needles...

There are days that one can never feel that she did enough and this was such a day for me. I've been knitting three infinity scarves at the same time and I still feel I should do more, but sure whatever we do doesn't change the reality of a day being 24 hours :) Maybe I'd learn to use the lappy with one hand and the tablet with the other while I knit my items :) because time will never be enough for one that runs an online shop as far as I see. Today I'll share an infiniy scarf that I've been knitting lately of yarn in purple tones while it's still on my knitting needles. I hope you all will like it...

14 Ekim 2014 Salı

I've started two new infinity scarves today and when all three that I knit and the one I've bought yarn for are completed I'll have enough listed in my shop for the new season so I can continue the items I've left aside for these scarves. Sure this Etsy thing that I have a little shop in keeps changing the terms and others so often and all seem to be in favor for wholesale businesses that usually buy cheap China crap and sell as if they are handmade and admin doesn't care what one sells there since they get their money which was definitely not what they've started as. Sure it's not me saying this, because I'm not that experienced and owner of an old shop, but people running shops there for years keep making such comments in every media they can reach. I hope; sure don't believe it will happen, the site will get back to the good old days people mention. Today I want to share a cowl I've listed lately. Knitted it of mustard and dark green wool, ribbed and think it looks beautiful with that striped pattern. I hope you all will like it...

Green & Orange Infinity Scarf...

It's been a quiet start to new week with a few neighbors' and friends' visit. They stayed for a short time so I could spend enough time online and knitting after tidying up the house. On our walk on Saturday, I've bought some yarn in purple and green and started new infinity scarves with both even before I couldn't complete the turquoise one, but as you know this is something I love so much; when you knit a few items at the same period; you complete them at the same time and this means you'll have a many items to list to your shop. Today I'll share one of the three infinity scarves I've listed lately. I've knitted it of green and orange yarn and made it look as if it's three equal parts; one green, one orange and the last salt and pepper. I hope you all will like it...

Infinity scarf in brown tones...

It's been one of those lovely Sundays with the family. The sky was filled by dark clouds after rain all through the night before, giving alert that it might rain again, but we still went out for our usual walk with mom and brother and this time we walked longer than usual, because we had some cast off clothes that we want to give to a charity organization. They have containers all around the city that you put what you want to give in and periodically attendants collect and deliver them to ones that need them. Sure before all these, there were new items ready to take photos of and I did them with excitement, because every new photo means a new item for my shop so right after the walk I've listed them. I'll share them here daily as I always do and will start with the one I've knitted of yarn in brown color tones. It's the same pattern I call 'rice' that I've used while I've knitted baby overalls in turquoise wool (https://www.etsy.com/listing/181125694/handknit-baby-overall-jumpsuit-bodysuit?ref=shop_home_active_3) as a custom order and then listed to my shop when I saw the result. Turquoise cowl on its way...

Just looking around the world makes one want to shout out and curse all that are responsible for all that crap, but while looking at the majority of our societies, I guess the best thing is to shut up and walk on your way while you get ready to defeat for the worst of all the possibilities when it becomes real. I'm sure you all understand what I mean and my purpose of my blog post yesterday. I know so well silence can tell more than millions of words time to time and today's world deserves that silence that encapsulates the energy needed for that change we all long for. With these thoughts swirling on my mind I've bought some new yarn for new infinity scarves and started a cowl of the turquoise color pure wool. Tomorrow I'll take and edit  photos of completed ones to list on  my shop that I sure will share here also, but today I want to post my last cowl while it's still on needles. I hope you all will like it...

New cowl on needles...

Post office was empty that proved I was so right on visiting it on the second day after Eid, because everyone rush to such public offices after holidays and line up in long queue. It took just a few minutes to post my pack to Ireland so I could spare all my time for my work, but as usual whatever your plan is, life awaits behind the corner to turn them upside down :) This time it was an old neighbor's visit, but I've enjoyed it, because I love the lady that came to extend mom her condolences for the loss of her sister. It was in the evening that she left so I took the knitting bag, completed it and started a cowl so I'll have at least three itemsd ready to be listed on Sunday. I'll just share the cowl I've started on my knitting needles tonight to give an idea. I hope you all will like it...

Wedding gift...

After making three cardigans ready to be packed, I gave the label of the yarn that I needed to complete one of the infinity scarves I've been knitting and asked her to buy it on her daily walk for me. I need to speed up and add some more new items to my shop so I'll try to knit as much as I can till evenings and promote my store on different websites at night. I need to straighten the scarf with a damp cloth to make it ready for taking photos and complete the second one tomorrow right after I dispatch my pack to my customer. She'll get married in November and asked me to knit these cardigans for her flower girls. Here in Turkey; it's a tradition for the bride to wear something red the night before her wedding day or at least carrying an accessory in red so I've picked this red chiffon scarf as my gift to her. I try to send something as a little gift with every ıorder I get and this time I wanted you to see my gift and its cover. I hope you all will like it...

New treasury...

Eid's over and the cardigans completed so I can focus on new items I'll list to my shop. I've started to knit the second color for the infinity scarf I've started before I got the custom order of these three baby cardigans I'll dispatch tomorrow. Last guest of Eid left around 5 pm. so I just could start to knit then, but knowing I can complete three cardigans in twelve days, I know so well I'll be able to add at least a few new items before people start shopping  for the holiday season. Before dinner I had time to work online; actually just cleaned my mailboxes and wanted to make a new treasury to share here on my blog, because I love to promote fellows' items as much as my own ones. I've named it 'Just as I Wish', because I didn't have any concept or thought on my mind what the theme would be. I've really enjoyed to see the result and I hope you all will like it also...

Current Baby Collection...

It was a beautiful Eid day that was full with visiting the neighbors and serving the guests. In between two groups of guests I had time to go online; have to admit this tablet made things easier, replied to a few messages on Etsy regarding a few possible orders and play some games on Facebook. I had to search for a few new yarn for the new baby items I'll knit, but sure if I can find some time to knit them, because just as I start something new; a new custom order comes and it fills all my time that I should be knitting the item I start. Sure every sale makes my day, but I wish I could have more time to complete my collection for new season. It was in the evening that I could complete knitting three dark green cardigans so I've took the infinity scarf I've started, but suspended till the last loop of the baby cardigans. Then it was time for my blog so I've made a new collage of baby items in my shop. I've made one earlier and posted here, but by reasons out of my control like the yarn companies stop producing same color of yarn, I had to change some. I hope you all will like the new collage...

Fall - Winter Collection

It's been a long day with guests after guests and I just could have time to turn the lappy and tablet on. I try to write my blog on the lappy while tweeting and pinning on tablet. It's close to midnight and I feel a bit tired, but still wanted to post a few sentences to my blog with a photo so I've made a fast collage of some of my items for Fall & Winter and will share it with the hope I'll be exempt of a long post on this day of Eid and the hope that you all will like the items on the photo...

Dark green cardigan...

As being the first day of Eid, it made the day special and more hectic. Even guests start to come with the second day, one still has to make a visit to the elders and on my example it's my uncle. Normally we don't visit much; modern times changed us also so visits get less each year, but sure as my mom and her siblings are the eldest of the family, younger ones still visit us and phone rings nearly all day. It was around 2 pm. when we left home for uncle's home and after a little chat of half an hour thee we were home around 4 o'clock. I just could knit a little, but I'm still in ease, because this is the last of the three cardigans that are custom order and actually I'm taking it slowly of a measurement I still have doubts and sent a message to my lovely customer asking if it's right :) I just could take a photo of one of them in a rush to post here. It's not that good and didn't have enough time to edit it, but it still gives an idea. I hope you all will like it...

Sun from my balcony...

It's Eid tomorrow, everyone will be busy with visiting and guests that visit, all the streets are full with shoppers and seems like this will not end till the first light of the new day. Another reason of the crowd outside is that it's Friday being the Eve that people just had time to do their shopping. Weather gets chillier each day so on my first post on the weekend I just wanted to share a photo I've taken a few years ago that Sun danced with the clouds and cause this unique view. I found the photo today as I've transferred the photos to my computer from an old memory card. Just wanted you to see it also and usual with the hope you all will like it...

Infinity scarves...

It's eve of Eid tomorrow so this means I'll have less time to knit while guests keep coming one after the other, but sure I'll make as much time as I can to complete the ones I've started and start a few new ones with the yarn I've just bought today. I guess I start new ones before I finish one; this way it gets harder to complete them, but at the end they get ready to be listed one after another in a few days which is definitely priceless. Earlier in the morning we made the desserts ready for the guest that I'll give you details of it; baklava: a traditional Turkish dessert on a post on the following days and bought the gifts for the little visitors :) (this also a tradition to give gifts to children who come with their parents and mostly this expands to bigger ones). I was really busy all day so I just could clean my inboxes and could hardly find time make a photo collage to post here that is infinity scarves listed in my shop all together. I hope you like it and the scarves on it...

Scarves Collection New Look...

There are too many we should consider and talk on, we; human beings turned earth into a planet of fire with nonsense reasons we convinced ourselves that are right and reasonable and at the end there are thousands dying each day, millions had to leave their homelands and billions suffering famine. Sure this isn't as attractive as life we amuse ourselves under the name of  'modern times' and continue our daily chores disregarding all bad things we read or listen on news. I'm sure we all think on this at least once in our lives and a few does something and take action. I believe such help should be done secretly, without arrogance and people will realize somebody does something to end the suffering of needy by the signs around the globe. I still hope human kind will be able to do this somehow and will monitor the news till I see such signs of understanding and fraternity even I know it will not happen soon :) As it's the first day of October; it's the most dangerous time of catching flu so I guess we'd better keep our neck warm so I thought it would be good to share my scarf collection once again with the new photos and I hope you all will like them...
